It's a New Day
Today is Sunday. Yes, I need this reminder as it's just 2 hours past midnight, lest I get carried away thinking it's still Saturday. And it's not just a new day, it's a new month as well.
Talking about a new day- just two days ago, a friend told me his baby would be arriving soon. Yesterday another friend told me his first baby has arrived, while I was on the way to a friend's child's 1st year birthday. These are not just coincidences my friend, it all points to something- a new season!
There was a time when the recurrent update is about my friend's getting married, now it's celebrating the arrival of Babies and Kid's birthdays. Before we blink, these kids will soon start graduating, getting married and all of a sudden like a lightening speed travel, it will be time to talk with friends about grand kids.
Whoa! Did I just narrate the journey of our individual lives, without talking directly about one's passion and life's pursuit? Yes, I just did. And this points to the fact that if we are not actively on the right chase, life just happens to us. And then you hear people wonder where the time went.
It's good to measure our lives milestone by the progress of our kids, but we should be beyond that. We are not here just to be biological producers, we should make intellectual, creative and economic contributions too. So as we excitedly celebrate the arrival of new babies (which I also love to do so much), please push forth and give birth to your life's vision as well.
Live! Don't just breath and breed.
PS: Happy Birthday JJ, cruising in through the hall with your big white toy car was quite an entrance. Your rhythmic bounce as you rode through just confirms you've got some deep groove in you. Keep it up!
