Leaders Form Culture

So today I started listening to a 42 hour long audio book I have had for a while, and I couldn't stop. Wonder what could be so interesting? Well, it's the History of America, actually that's just the title but it seem like the history of the entire west. Talking about Spain, France, England, United States, Canada and many more.

A part of it I'd like to chew on in this piece for tonight, is how Leadership form culture. Either you know it or not, Americans are loud, and British are reserved, and maybe even docile is a more fitting word.

This interesting history of America reveals how that people who protested against some of the rules of governing England were the ones who relocated to America, under the pretence of other excuses.  Whereas people who condoned the dominating rulership of the monarchy stayed on in England.

Without much a do, this snapshot from the long unending historical story tells us that submission or rebellion, stillness or loudness, reserved or relational are all hereditary (and also observatory). So in one phrase- Leaders form culture.

What culture are you forming for your kids? What culture are your forming for your organisation or your team?

It's all in your hands. Model what you want to see.

  1. Good question. And this is where the Church has failed because instead of teaching us 'christians' the heavenly culture as modelled by our Lord Jesus Christ, it is teaching religion!

Culture is stronger than Religion. Religion is our biggest problem as a people. It is important to know that the intention of God in creating Earth was so that it will be colonized with the Heavenly culture. It is our duty as christians to understand this heavenly culture, live accordingly, and spread Gods government (heavenly culture) across the earth. Hab 2:14 "For the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the Lord as the waters cover the sea."

You should read God's Big Idea by Dr. Myles Munroe. Awesome read!
