What a Day!

Before I went to bed last night, I worried a bit about today. It was going to be almost back to back meetings almost all day with a little 30 minutes break somewhere in between that is not even sufficient to grab a pint of coffee and a two slice sandwich.

And as the day started, I spent the first half on my home desk before I yanked myself off in between to commute to work. While in transit I wrote up a internal blog post announcing an important update on the project. I arrived the office just 6 minutes away from meeting time. During one of my calls I had to squeeze in a quick rush through of my flat bread and moi-moi sandwich.

After my presumed last call, I had to jump on one more call to run through next steps from the last call with a colleague, while having a chat with another. Oh! It was like three days rolled in one. Though one thing kept me going through the day- I was going to meet with an amazing friend and brother later in day.

And oh! Our meeting point is another story. I googled it last night before and found the closest real food place to Waterloo Station. Good enough this was Thai. Only to arrive there to see a tight fisted restaurant, the next person seating beside you can easily make the mistake of putting a spoonful into your mouth thinking it's his- that's how close we sat. Or sorry, we would have sat because I didn't bother seating at all. I just tapped my friend (who was seating wondering why I loved this tiny place) that we should move to the opposite place that seems more opened. Lessons learnt,  don't be too experimental with finding a spot to meet up.

That was the beginning of the evening adventure. Thank God the next place was nice. Loved my panini tuna and cucumber sandwich with Apple and carrot juice. My healthy eating friend enjoyed his brown bread sandwich with peppermint tea; well that's so not me.

We had some spirito-intellectual conversation. And we just kept syncing, connecting and agreeing. A principal bit being, learning to rest whenever God gives us a period of rest.

As though the time flew out the window like one of those flies you just find difficult to catch or trap, we noticed the Lady moving chairs. Oh! we have to move. Thankfully my plan worked this time- find a restaurant close to a park, so we could walk through the garden after being bored of seating still in the restaurant. Just with a little twist though, it turned out the restaurant was the one that was tired of us seating- as it was time for them to close.

Phew! I have been writing for a while now and I don't even know where this post is leading to. Anyway, I had a great time this evening. Lovely catch up, nice stories and testimonies. And whoa! my friend, Eniwo took great pictures. Thanks to the portrait feature on iPhone 7 Plus which painfully is missing on my own iPhone 7- maybe I should call mine iPhone 7 minus now.

In another news, despite Eniwo's nice looking leather jacket, he still felt so cold. No thanks to the chilly riverside air blowing so gently like a soft stroke through a dog's fur. Honestly, I felt cold a bit too but our conversation just kept warming up.

It was indeed a great time hanging out with a beloved friend today, so much so I'm now thinking of a business idea of creating a food place that is called Friends & Catch-up, with some dynamic twist to our service offering.

Before I let too much cat out of the bag on my fantasy idea, let me stop here with a big thank you to my beloved friend for making this evening a refreshing one after a day of firing on all cylinders.

But I can't drop my pen (actually typing fingers) without screaming out, Apple you've cheated me. I also need my own portrait feature on my iPhone camera, or else!
