Miracles are the Exception
When you come to church, what you get at best are raw materials, potential energy. The onus is on you to go refine this raw materials into a polished outcome and convert the potential to kinetic action through your actions.
Yes, sometime you come pray and miracles happen without any intervention from you aside from the prayers of course. And this prayers could be in church, at home, with friends or even at a party.
As a maturing Christian, know and accept that these are the exception. Miracles without any action from you is the exception.
Not because your work actually brings the result. But because God just likes partnership.
That is why most promises in the Bible has a part for you in it. And when this part can either be a required action (like when Jesus asked the blind man to go wash in the pool) or a precondition (like when the Bible says eyes have not seen... what the Lord has for those who love him).
And this cause and effect is tied up in the verse that summarises that faith without action is dead.
Although it is worthy of note that as a Child of God the results will always surpass your input. But God wants that little input nevertheless. He doesn't want lazy people on his kingdom.
In fact it was deliberately stated that him that will not work should not eat. But you will be doing wrong when you equate work to job here.
The work you need to put in to get a desired result is not only what men thinks but whatt God leads. I was once looking for a new job and God's leading was to update my CV and invest more time in getting new skills, the job opportunity eventually came as a Linkedin message, without the tiring everyday search.
Miracles without your action are the exception. But miracles are the norm anyway, miracles that involves you collaborating with you. And don't mix it up he is the main art and you are the one being featured.
Will you respond to God's invitation today? He says, come let us reason together.
