Why is God a Him?

This question could make people wonder if the question is stemming from doubt or something similar.

It's possible for fellow Christians to quickly posit that God was severally referred to as Father in the Bible, so he must be a him. However, that will then reveal our level of curiosity and interest in digging deeper.

I ask a lot of these questions in my head, many times I don't discuss them or take it any further. But today I realise these questions are only a window to my mind. I'm not asking to challenge or show doubt, I'm asking because new insight and understanding starts with a question. It helps us see a new perspective or deepen an existing one.

So if like me, you chuckle when people ask you questions like "are you back?" When they can literally see you just returning home, then I'd advise myself and you too not to chuckle but patiently understand that question with fresh eyes. And maybe next time, respond to the question with another question like, "why did you ask?"

Who knows you might get response like, "your friend mentioned that you were going with him to his football games, which is why I'm surprised to see you home, I assume you just swing by to pick something up" to which you might respond "yes I forgot, thanks for reminding me"

The idea tonight is to not shut down questions that we think don't make sense instead deepen our insight. Like the question in our title today, why is God a him? If you patiently observe you might realise that the intent of the question is not to challenge God's gender but to dig deeper and gain insight on why he is so.

Ask on!
